East Main Street Parkette

A downtown parkette that reflects its surroundings and creates an inviting space to pause, connect, and enjoy city views.

We transformed a key site in downtown Welland into a new parkette that invites people to pause, connect, and enjoy the surrounding canal and lift bridge views. The design draws inspiration from the bridge itself, with furniture, paving, and materials reflecting its structure and character.

By carefully integrating seating, pathways, and planting, the parkette provides a welcoming public space for everyday use. The result is a small but impactful civic landscape that strengthens community presence and encourages engagement in the heart of the city.
