Adesso will conduct an initial site visit to document existing conditions, review the site, and understand the property and surrounding context. The team will undertake precedent research to help establish options for desired aesthetic, spatial character and key reference imagery. This will result in the development of a look-book to help with overall design direction and materiality.

Based on our background research and the outcome of the design direction meeting, adesso will develop a landscape design presentation package. The concept will focus on layout plans and materials, considering the architectural style of the residence and features identified with the client. This will lead to the development of a comprehensive presentation package for your review. The presentation package will include precedent images, a materials palette, and a planting palette. Portions of the design may be explored using 3D modelling and animation as part of the presentation material.

This stage will focus on a second client meeting to review the concept design and presentation package, including layout, materials palette, and plant palette. This will be an in-depth meeting to finalize the landscape design concept and material choices.

adesso will present the refined concept plans and presentation package with finalized materials and planting palettes, including high-level landscape construction budgets to ensure that the project falls in line with client expectations. If required, adesso will undertake a value engineering exercise to ensure the project remains on budget.

Once the conceptual landscape package has been approved by the client, and there is a clear understanding of the required scope of work, adesso will prepare a proposal for the design development and construction documents phase of the project. At this stage, the landscape drawings will be further refined and detailed as required for construction. The landscape construction documents will have all necessary information to facilitate preliminary pricing from landscape contractors as well as submission for required permits.

adesso can prepare a tender package including specifications and estimated quantities for distribution to a select number of contractors to facilitate detailed pricing. Adesso will respond to any questions raised by the contractors and review submitted bids on behalf of the client.

Adesso will act as the client’s representative in the administration of the landscape contract, conducting regular site meetings/inspections, issuing any required site instructions, change orders and reviewing requests for payments as required.
